BBQ Pork & Beans with Coca Cola BBQ Sauce
Trimmed pork loins kicked up with cajun spice & brown sugar, thrown on the grill, and smothered in Coca-Cola barbecue sauce
Ingredients
- 2 1 lb. trimmed pork loins
- 1 tbsp. garlic salt
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1 tbsp. Cajun spice
- Olive oil
- 1 tbsp. fine brown sugar
- 2 cans canned navy beans
- 1/4 lb. ground dark turkey meat
- 1 red onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. canola oil
BBQ Sauce
- 2 tbsp. canola oil
- 3 tbsp. diced jalapeño
- 2 tbsp. diced garlic
- 3 cups ketchup
- 1/4 cup cognac (optional)
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup Coca-Cola
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. liquid smoke
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
Cooking Steps

Start by seasoning the pork really well all over with the garlic salt, Cajun spice and brown sugar. Then, using your hand, pat the pork with olive oil. On a grill or in grill pan cook for 8 to 12 minutes with medium heat - rotating every couple of minutes. While the pork is cooking, get the beans and sauce going.

In a large saucepan add some canola oil, then the onion, garlic, and turkey. Sauté for 3 to 5 minutes, then add then beans and the remaining ingredients. Mix well and bring to a low simmer for 5 minutes.

Coca-Cola BBQ Sauce In a large saucepan heat the oil just a little then add the garlic, shallots and jalapeño. Sauté for 2 minutes, then add the remaining ingredients. Mix well and bring to a low simmer until sauce is combined. Check your flavor and adjust the sweetness if you like.

After the pork is 5 minutes from done add the BBQ sauce and rotate so that the sauce sticks. Remove pork from pan, slice and serve over beans.
